The Toad voice actor spoke about the upcoming sequel in a recent interview with Men's Journal, and teased that it will be "a little broader in scope." Though he didn't offer any specific details, Key did mention that new characters will be introduced, including a few "deep cuts" that make reference to the more obscure corners of the Mario Bros. lore.
