Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyoushu no Nekomimi Shoujo to Deau Season 2 release date predictions: Renewal uncertain?
As of the last update, Studio EMT Squared, Crunchyroll, Square Enix, or any company related to the production of the anime has not officially confirmed the Beast Tamer Season 2 release date. Nor has the production of a Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyoushu no Nekomimi Shoujo to Deau Season 2 sequel beenannounced.
Once the news is officially confirmed this article will be updated with the relevant information.
In the meantime, it’s possible to speculate about when, or if, the Beast Tamer Season 2 release date will occur in the future.
The Beast Tamer reviews reveal that anime fans feel that the first season was a solid anime even if it came off as generic. The characters are fun to watch and fairly well-rounded despite having that isekai harem vibe. The adaptation pacing does not rush through the source material. The animation in the fight scenes is better than usual for this type of story and in some ways, the mixture of melee and magic combat sometimes resembled Dragon Ball.
While it’s technically not an isekai story, Beast Tamer tends to follow the same set of tropes since there’s a lot of overlap in the power fantasy genre. The problem is that the main character Rein is intrinsically overpowered without any explanation. He doesn’t even realize how unusual his powers are in comparison to the average beast tamer since the overly aggressive Hero’s Party chastises him without merit.
Kanade’s first appearance is especially odd since she comes off as a damsel in distress despite being fully capable of defeating the monster on her own. Certainly, the story attempts to justify this momentary lapse in the cat spirit’s power by claiming she was starving to death, but it’s just all too fortuitous.
A once-in-a-lifetime chance encounter is somewhat reasonable, especially if mischievous gods are intervening in human affairs (see Reincarnated as a Sword as an example). But then in a relatively short amount of time Rein continues to have a series of lucky run-ins with legendary “ultimate species” that all form a pact with Rein despite the magical contract providing no tangible benefit to the girls. In addition to these one-sided contracts feeling like a lazy plot device for gathering party harem members, the contracts also conveniently boost Rein’s powers similar to the prideful Hero.
Speaking of the unapologetic Hero’s Party, they’re almost too selfish, greedy, and twisted. For being so-called elites, it’s bizarre how they dismissed the value of scouting and logistical support. Rather than being flawed characters with some redeeming values their only seeming purpose as a group is to provide a stunning contrast to Rein, who naturally behaves like how a real hero should act if they were truly chosen by the gods.
Flawed characters are more interesting to watch and Rein himself is overly nice despite his tragic backstory. The girls even regularly call him out for this personality quirk! (Never mind when he claims to be no hero but “just a beast tamer”.) But a story with a main character whose only internal conflict is self-confidence isn’t a great hook, especially when the issue is resolved quickly within several episodes.
Beyond dealing with self-doubt Rein didn’t even have his own motivation or goal to seek. Being kicked out of the Hero’s Party sent him adrift in multiple ways until he was able to establish his own sense of identity. From a storytelling perspective, solving Rein’s issues led the protagonist to adopt the long-term goal of eliminating the Demon King… even if that motivation is a trope of the genre.
Thankfully, the girls themselves have their own personality quirks and flaws that make up for any storytelling shortcomings in the main protagonist. Rather than simply being a collection of hot fantasy girls with no characterization (see Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World), they all deal with self-doubts and problems related to their backstories.
Despite being relatively well-rounded characters for this genre, they all fall victim to the trope of being in love with the protagonist rather than joining his group to fulfill their own desires. Certainly, Rein seems to be a great guy who really does honor his comrades as individual women, and he’s not a scumbag seeking to forcefully take their chastity like in recent isekai anime. But what woman would really decide to form a serious life-long contract in a matter of minutes or hours and then (secretly) fall in love within days? Such moments come off as forced romantic progression and make it hard for the characters to be relatable.
In the end, the story still comes down to an overpowered protagonist traveling the world collecting girls in a harem (even though Rein doesn’t believe they are a harem, even the kids in the story ask about his many “wives”). While Rein isn’t exactly a blank slate personality-wise, the anime still comes off as wish fulfillment where Rein is a self-insert for the viewer. And the average Beast Tamer reviews probably reflect how the anime fandom is becoming tired of being inundated by similar stories every season.
Of course, there is a certain target audience that just can’t get enough of these types of stories. They’ll show up to watch just for the beast girls, especially if they are relatively well-executed like the Beast Tamer anime. The question is whether the anime production committee can justify a Beast Tamer sequel.
Notably, Crunchyroll was directly on the anime production committee for this project. From a financial perspective, the first season was regularly featured in the Top 10 on Crunchyroll’s popular anime list in Fall 2022, but it’s not a shoo-in for renewal likeSPY x FAMILY Season 2, Chainsaw Man Season 2, My Hero Academia Season 7, or even Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun Season 4.
With the exception of Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, Studio EMT Squared does not have a recent reputation for producing anime sequels.
Another negative data point is that Beast Tamer anime did not give a huge boost to the sales of the Beast Tamer manga or light novel series. The series did not make theOricon Top 20 mangaor theOricon Top 20 light novelsfor October 2022. (It should be noted that the Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear light novel series made the Oricon Top 20 in that month.)
Therefore, it’s uncertain whether the anime production committee will have Beast Tamer renewed for a second season. We’ll just have to wait and see since many isekai/power fantasy anime are receiving sequels.
For example, the Trapped in a Dating Sim Season 2 anime TV show was reportedly greenlit for production several months after its respective finale. That other anime faced a similar uphill battle for renewal, so it’s possible that Beast Tamer Season 2 could be announced in 2023.
Beast Tamer Season 2 English dub release date predictions
Crunchyroll’s Beast Tamer English dub release date for the first season was on October 15, 2022, which was only several weeks behind the series premiere on October 2, 2022.

Presumably, now that Funimation is being phased out by Sony, Crunchyroll’s Beast Tamer Season 2 English dub release date will be announced in the future after Beast Tamer S2 has first premiered with Japanese audio and English subtitles.
Hopefully, future English dubbing will be faster once the COVID pandemic winds down and becomes endemic. In order to protect voice actors from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, they were forced to temporarily pause production or take extra safety precautions that resulted in slowed work.
Many English dubbing houses have experienced delays since voice actors often travel to the recording studio. By mid-2022 Crunchyroll began switching from remote recording to in-studio recording again (most of the work is done in their Texas studio).
Beast Tamer manga, light novel series compared to the anime
The story for the Beast Tamer anime is based on the Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyoushu no Nekomimi Shoujo to Deau light novel series by author Suzu Miyama and illustrator Hotosoka. Although the official title is simply translated into Beast Tamer, the full title actually means, “The Beast Tamer Who Was Exiled from His Party Meets a Cat Girl From the Strongest Race”.
Like many anime in this genre, the story first came to life in June 2018 as a Beast Tamer web novel that was self-published on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website. The web novel is still ongoing.
The Beast Tamer light novel series began adapting the web novel in May 2019. Published by Kodansha Ranobe Book, the book series is up to Beast Tamer Volume 8 as of July 1, 2022. Historically, new light novels have been released twice a year.
The original creator teamed up with artist Moto Shigemura to create the Beast Tamer manga adaptation. Serialized in Square Enix’s Manga UP! magazine since January 2019, the series is up to Beast Tamer manga Volume 7 as of September 7, 2022.
Unfortunately, no North American publisher has announced an official English translation of either the light novels or manga. However, there are fan-made scanlation projects that have translated even the latest manga chapters.
As with all isekai anime based on light novels, the story was condensed in order to fit entire story arcs into the TV episodic format. This meant that some of the world-building details from the light novels were skipped. But at least the characterization was done right.
One slight difference between the mediums was TV censorship. Beast Tamer Episode 8 was one of the few times (only?) in anime history where a guy accidentally sees the girls naked and the girls don’t blame him since they realize it’s not his fault. Rein having no interest in peeking was also perfectly in character for him as a good boi.
In the anime, sunbeam-san and steam-san were kept busy chasing after the girls after they stripped down for a pond bath. Audiences get any eyeful of Kanade while Sora and Runa were covered in suspicious fog. No, there is no way to watch Beast Tamer Episode 8 uncensored, nor has the official website announced anything about the Blu-Ray/DVD volumes being spicy.
The light novel illustrations were similarly censored by splashes of water covering up the naughty bits. Beast Tamer Chapter 36 was slightly uncensored since it relied on strategically placed high strands but it otherwise showed the entire shape of their bodies.
Previously, this article mentioned how lucky Rein was to run into all of these beast girls in a relatively short amount of time. You might think that the anime rushed through adapting many light novels in order to pull that trick off, but the quick introduction of the harem members is actually the fault of the original story.
The 2nd ultimate species, dragonoid Tania, was added to the harem collection in light novel Volume 1: Chapter 3. The battle with the Hero’s Party took place in Volume 1: Chapter 5. The fairy twins Runa and Sora had joined the harem by Chapter 6. The legend of the hero Ariosas told by Beast Tamer Episode 7 adapted the Volume 1 epilogue. Fox girl/demigod Nina joined the party at the end of Volume 2.
Speaking of rushing, thankfully the adaptation pacing of Beast Tamer Season 1 was very good. While not as good as the86 animewhere a single cour adapted only one book and expanded the story with good original content, the Beast Tamer anime is one of the delightful few that doesn’t stick to the formula of adapting between 3 to 6 books in only 12 episodes.
All in all, the first season’s finale, Beast Tamer Episode 13, found a stopping point corresponding to the ending of light novel Volume 2.
It’s the best stopping point since the party harem is all gathered. The battle with the demon made for a good climax in Beast Tamer Episode 12, although Episode 13 was a bit slow since it focused on the aftermath and the house buying.
The revelation that this same demon killed Rein’s parents and his entire village also offered a semblance of plot resolution since Rein was able to stop the demon from doing the same to Horizon. As a child, Rein could only watch helplessly as everyone was slaughtered, which fed into his mistaken belief that he wasn’t powerful.
The good news is that there is plenty of source material available now for making Beast Tamer Season 2.
The bad news is that manga readers will have to wait until newer manga chapters finish adapting the fox girl story arc in order to read ahead of the anime. The first light novel was adapted by 33 manga chapters.
Beast Tamer Season 2 anime TV spoilers (plot summary/synopsis)
After a fierce battle with the demon, Rein and his party became the heroes of Horizon. On the recommendation of guild receptionist Natalie they decide to look for a house of their own.
They finally find an ideal mansion that can serve as their base of operations but it’s inhabited by ghost girl Tina, a chatty maid!
However, by chance, Tina is reunited with the person who once killed her. Rein and his friends vow to avenge Tina’s death, but they’re being stalked by the evil hand of the mysterious Assassin, the most powerful profession.
As if that’s not enough trouble, Kanade’s mother, Suzu, arrives to take her daughter back!
It’s pointed out to Rein and his team that their dangerous fighting style relies on raw physical strength, so Rein’s party decides to train hard to make up for this shortcoming.
It’s then that they receive urgent news that Pagos, a village on the southern continent, has been destroyed by a mysterious “demon” attack. Receiving an urgent request from the Adventurers’ Guild, Rein and his team join up with the A-rank adventurer duo Axe and Cel and set out to investigate.
Unfortunately, anime fans will have to wait until the Beast Tamer Season 2 release date to watch what happens next.
Beast Tamer Season 2 studio and staff
The studio and main staff making Beast Tamer Season 2 hasn’t been announced yet.
For the first season, the Beast Tamer anime was produced by Japanese animation Studio EMT Squared, which is probably best known for the Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear anime series, the I’m Quitting Heroing anime, theDrug Store in Another World anime, theAssassin’s Pride anime, and the anime.
In 2023, the Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Season 2 release date was in Spring 2023.
The first season of the Beast Tamer anime was helmed by director Atsushi Nigorikawa (Love Tyrant, multiple Naruto movies). Writer Takashi Oashima (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear series, Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! series) wrote the scripts and series composition.
Artist Shuuhei Yamamoto (Kakushigoto, Strike Witches) was the character designer. Composers Yuuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia), Alisa Okehazama, and Naoyuki Chikatani created the music.
